Job Description:Identifies potential recommendations for process and procedure changes based on monitoring and auditing activities. Independently prepares and quality controls work papers and other project deliverables. Manages audit procedures for compliance, privacy, and operational audits. Conducts audit and investigation procedures to ensure compliance with applicable policies and regulations. Prepares audit programs, planning documents, and time budgets for review and approval. Other duties as assigned.
Conducts compliance research and analyzes federal and state laws and regulations to synthesize information for leadership. Develops and contributes to presentations and deliverables for key Compliance meetings, including Steering Committee and Board Meetings. Participates in Compliance inquiries and investigations, assisting with initiatives as requested. Contributes to Compliance risk assessment initiatives and programs as directed. Performs and summarizes data analysis for monitoring and auditing activities, inquiries and investigations, risk assessment, or other projects.
Prepares and executes project plans related to the annual Compliance Work Plan items, risk assessment initiatives, and special projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, PowerBI), with advanced skills in Excel and PowerBI. [Required]
- Ability to work with other software applications/systems, such as internal and vendor compliance reporting and tracking systems, and to assist with data analytics and reporting. [Required]
- Proficient writing skills and ability to develop thorough but concise presentations, reports, and other documents. [Required]
- Strong communication skills and ability to present ideas and information comfortably and effectively in front of committees and large groups, legal counsel, all levels of job classes within the system, and other key stakeholders, such as patients and representatives of government agencies. [Required]
- Ability to develop and provide effective and understandable training to various audiences, including experience translating complex compliance concepts into an easy to understand format. [Required]
- Demonstrate strong ethical principles and behaviors. [Required]
- Ability to respond to requests in an independent, focused, and timely manner. [Required]
- Ability to collaborate with peers and leaders in other departments. [Required]
- Working knowledge of health care compliance programs and the Office of Inspector General (OIG) “seven elements” of an effective compliance program. [Required]
- Ability to independently research and analyze complex health care compliance and regulatory subjects, including the ability to understand and synthesize federal and state laws and regulations, and other industry documents/publications. [Required
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to independently develop and manage project plans, effectively prioritize work, complete tasks/projects within established time frames, and report on progress to leadership. [Required]
