Job Description

As a Camp Counselor at Rakad Dance Camp, you will play a vital role in ensuring campers have a safe, enjoyable, and enriching experience. Reporting to the Camp Director, you will supervise campers, facilitate activities, and promote a culture of inclusivity and creativity. Your contributions will help campers grow personally and artistically, aligning with the camp’s mission.

Essential duties and responsibilities
  • Supervise campers:
    Ensure camper safety and well‑being, maintaining a vigilant and supportive presence throughout camp activities.
  • Facilitate activities:
    Lead dance choreography, games, crafts, and performances, providing guidance to enhance camper skills.
  • Plan and execute activities:
    Collaborate on organizing activities that promote creativity and teamwork.
  • Mentorship and support:
    Offer guidance and positive reinforcement, fostering an environment of growth and self‑expression.
  • Promote inclusivity:
    Model respectful behavior and uphold the camp’s values of diversity and inclusion.
  • Prepare for performances:
    Assist with camp performances, including costume coordination and backstage logistics.
  • Administrative duties:
    Complete paperwork, including attendance records and performance evaluations.
  • Safety and emergency preparedness:
    Be knowledgeable about emergency procedures and prioritize camper safety.
  • Build strong relationships:
    Cultivate positive rapport with campers, counselors, and leadership.
Qualifications
  • Age:
    Must be 15 or older; those 18 and older must complete a background check.
  • Preferred qualifications:

    First Aid and CPR training.
Education and Experience
  • High school and college students are welcome to apply.
  • Experience with leadership positions, summer camp, or dance experience is necessary.
Salary

$14 per hour
