Compensation: $90,000-$110,000
EHS Training Manager who can plan and conduct job site safety inspections to identify hazards in the workplace per OSHA rules and regulations. Must have construction job site experience and knowledge of commonly used tools and machinery. Travel within a broad territory, conducting inspections and documenting issues. Lead training seminars and review procedures. Focus on environmental, health, safety including DOT compliance for fleet vehicles.
Job Responsibilities- Conduct daily safety job site audits
- Oversee worker safety and work quality
- Monitor tools/equipment condition and use
- Ensure company Code of Safe Practices and IIPP enforced by foremen
- Conduct investigations of all injuries and accidents, analyze hazards and implement changes to prevent recurrence
- Maintain safety related files, documentation, and reports
- Conduct and manage all safety training relevant to OSHA courses, First Aid/CPR, new hire training, fire extinguisher certification, forklift certification, DOT training, etc.
- Review safety procedures
- Issue PPE as needed
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Respond to incidents outside normal hours or train on Saturdays as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Skills & Qualifications
- Associate degree in Occupational Safety, Construction, or related field and 3 years of experience in safety training or investigation
- 3-5 years’ experience in construction safety (Telecommunications Construction preferred)
- Current OSHA Construction 10-hour or 30-hour certification (a plus)
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Bilingual (English and Spanish)
- Knowledge of State & Federal safety regulations and standards
- Knowledge of applicable policies, procedures, and regulations for specific duties
- Good Microsoft Office, organizational and planning, and math skills
- Ability to stay current with policy changes, methods, equipment needs
- Ability to assemble information and compile reports
- Ability to interpret and apply regulations and procedures
- Ability to use Audio/Visual aids in presentations
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of employees
- Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with employees, management, consultants, and government entities
- Work performed indoor and outdoor
- Walk on uneven terrain, work in trenches, climb ladders
- Expose to heavy machinery and extreme weather conditions
- Visit job sites regularly, exposure to dust, extreme temperatures, noise, inclement weather, occasional hazardous conditions
- Frequent standing, climbing, walking, lifting, bending, stooping
- May need to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs
- Must see and hear normal range, communicate verbally and in written form
- Stamina to work long hours, overtime, irregular schedule, evening meetings after full day if necessary
