Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Civil Superintendent to manage daily field operations on active construction projects. This individual will be responsible for coordinating crews, subcontractors, equipment, materials, scheduling, and safety while ensuring projects are completed according to plans, budget, and schedule.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and supervise daily onsite construction activities
  • Coordinate project schedules, field engineering, materials, equipment, and manpower
  • Lead craft employees, field supervisors, and subcontractors
  • Ensure work is completed according to project plans, specifications, budget, and schedule
  • Support the development and implementation of project procedures, standards, and field documentation
  • Monitor productivity and ensure efficient use of labor, materials, and equipment
  • Enforce company and project safety requirements
  • Document safety or performance violations and implement corrective actions when necessary
  • Communicate project progress, field conditions, and potential issues to project management
  • Complete additional field assignments as required
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Manage approximately 1-5 field supervisors
  • Oversee field crews and subcontractors throughout project execution
  • Provide daily direction and maintain accountability for safety, productivity, and quality
Required Experience
  • At least four years of heavy civil construction management or craft supervision experience
  • Strong experience with heavy civil earthwork and site development
  • Knowledge of earthmoving, dewatering, underground utilities, road construction, parking lots, and surveying
  • Working knowledge of construction equipment, methods, scheduling, cost control, and safety procedures
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel to projects outside the local area or state
