Job Responsibilities
- Initiates QIP on every assigned project.
- During design phase:
- Conducts design Quality kick-off meeting.
- Ensures design reviews are completed and signed off at 30 and 100%.
- Ensures Quality risks and mitigation plans are established/documented.
- Personally reviews final documents on all assigned projects.
- Ensures that geotechnical, concrete and envelope reviews are held on all assign projects. Performsgeotechnical report review. Advises Project Director, Construction Project Manager and Design Project Manager on critical related information. Recommends alternative solutions and engages QA Manager when appropriate.
- During construction phase:
- Conducts construction Quality kick-off meeting.
- Participates in the selection and evaluation of independent testing agencies to support project construction phase. Develops budgets, administers contracts, and monitors scheduledactivities, such as reports, field activities, tests and inspections on all agencies contracted.
Distributes test results to appropriate design and Quality team members. - Performs testing, when required, on all scheduled activities not covered by the testingagency or subcontractor.
- Finalizes the remaining Quality risks with well-developed mitigation plans.
- In conjunction with the Project Manager and Superintendent ensures allprecons/preparatory meetings required by the QIP are conducted. Conducts meetings inarea of expertise.
- Ensures that all first work in place (initial) observations are scheduled and conducted. Alsomonitors progress of all required corrective measures. Performs observations in area of expertise.
- Ensures in cooperation with Design Project Manager, Construction Project Manager and Superintendent that all site (follow-up) observations are conducted. Performs all assigned QAinspections, prepares reports, documents deficiencies, and monitors progress of all correctivemeasures.
- Performs the following QC checks during site visits: verification of materials, compliance withmaterial storage, protection and maintenance requirements (including motors), materialinstallation compliance with documents (foundation systems, slab on ground, structuralframing systems, building enclosure systems, interior partitions, interior finishes, mechanicalsystem installation, electrical system installation, and equipment installation. Notifies project team to provide assistance for checks in areas outside of expertise.
- During the closeout phase:
- Ensures in cooperation with the Construction Project Manager and Superintendent that Haskell completion conference and subcontractor completion conferences are conducted and documented.
- Monitors that AE punch lists are created and completed.
- Performs final QA punch list, documents findings and verifies/documents completion ofthose items.
- Conducts/coordinates in conjunction with the Project Director, Design Project Manage rand Construction Project Manager a lesson learned meeting. Prepares lessons learneddocument and distributes to project team and Director of Quality.
- Produces reports which are concise, thorough, logically structured and well written for each QIPactivity for which they are responsible. Distributes reports in a timely manner.
- Communicates to the Quality Manager or Director of Quality potential inconsistencies,deficiencies, errors, omissions and conditions that expose the company to liability expenses.
