OverviewWe’re seeking an experienced Lead Estimator to join a well-established marine and heavy civil contractor supporting complex infrastructure projects throughout the region.
This is a senior-level estimating opportunity with exposure to projects ranging from smaller scopes under $100K to major programs exceeding $1B
. The Lead Estimator will be involved throughout the pursuit lifecycle—not simply completing takeoffs—including estimating strategy, constructability, risk identification, pricing, bid reviews, and collaboration with operations.
- Lead and develop estimates for marine and heavy civil construction projects
- Manage estimates ranging from smaller scopes to highly complex, large-scale pursuits
- Develop labor, equipment, material, subcontractor, and vendor pricing
- Perform quantity takeoffs and evaluate production rates, construction sequencing, and means & methods
- Review drawings, specifications, contracts, and bid documents
- Identify constructability concerns, project risks, and cost-saving opportunities
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals
- Participate in pricing strategy, bid reviews, and final proposal development
Support bid-build, design-build, CMAR/CMGC, and other alternative delivery projects - Work closely with operations and project leadership to ensure estimates reflect how the work will actually be built
- Assist with project handoff from estimating into operations following award
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and direction to other members of the estimating team
- Strong estimating experience within marine, heavy civil, civil infrastructure, or structural construction
- Experience owning significant portions of complex estimates and pursuits
- Strong understanding of construction means & methods, labor productivity, equipment utilization, material costs, and subcontractor scopes
- Ability to identify and evaluate constructability issues and project risk
- Experience collaborating with operations and project teams during the estimating process
- Strong knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and technical documentation
- Leadership experience within an estimating environment
