Position

Summary

McLain Site Solutions is seeking an experienced Concrete Curb Machine Operator to join our growing team. This position is responsible for operating and assisting with the setup of concrete curb and gutter equipment on site development and heavy civil construction projects throughout Northeast Florida. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience operating concrete curb equipment and a strong understanding of curb and gutter placement, machine setup and adjustment, line and grade, concrete consistency, and proper finishing process.

Previous concrete curb machine operating experience is strongly preferred.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Safely operate a concrete curb machine for curb, gutter, and related concrete applications.
  • Set up, adjust, and operate curb equipment according to project plans and specifications.
  • Follow established line, grade, elevations, and project layout.
  • Monitor concrete consistency and placement to maintain proper curb dimensions, alignment, and finish.
  • Make necessary machine adjustments during placement to maintain quality and accuracy.
  • Coordinate with concrete finishers, laborers, grade crews, truck drivers, and supervision during pours.
  • Perform daily equipment inspections and routine maintenance.
  • Identify equipment issues and communicate needed repairs or maintenance.
  • Assist with machine cleaning, setup, breakdown, and jobsite preparation.
  • Read and follow project plans, specifications, and field instructions.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Follow all company and jobsite safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned based on project needs.
Qualifications
  • Experience working in concrete construction, site development, heavy civil construction, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of concrete placement and finishing practices.
  • Ability to understand line, grade, elevations, and basic construction layout.
  • Ability to safely operate equipment in active construction environments.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing consistent, quality work.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a curb/concrete crew.
  • Dependable attendance and reliable transportation to assigned jobsites.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and jobsite conditions.
Preferred
  • Previous experience operating a concrete curb machine.
  • Experience with curb and gutter, slipform concrete, or similar concrete placement equipment.
  • Heavy civil or site development experience.
  • Valid driver's license.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods on uneven construction terrain.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, climb, reach, push, and pull as required.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to safely climb on and off construction equipment.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work outdoors for extended periods.
  • Ability to work around concrete, construction equipment, dust, noise, and changing weather conditions.
Work Environment

This is a field-based position working on active site development and heavy civil construction projects throughout Northeast Florida. Employees may be exposed to outdoor weather conditions, construction equipment, moving vehicles, concrete, dust, dirt, mud, noise, and other conditions typical of active construction sites. All employees are expected to follow McLain Site Solutions' safety policies and use required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Schedule

Monday–Friday Typical hours: 7:00 AM–5:00 PMOne-hour unpaid lunch

Overtime may be available based on project and business needs.
