Heavy Equipment Operator – Entry Level

We are seeking dependable and safety-conscious Heavy Equipment Operators for a construction site in Sanderson, Florida. No previous heavy equipment operating experience is required. Candidates who are reliable, willing to learn, and comfortable working outdoors in a construction environment are encouraged to apply. Employees will receive on-the-job training to safely operate assigned equipment and assist with general construction site activities.

• Learn to safely operate heavy construction equipment under the direction of experienced personnel.
• Operate assigned equipment according to company procedures and site safety requirements after completing required training.
• Assist with moving dirt, gravel, sand, debris, and other construction materials.
• Load, move, spread, or stockpile materials as directed.
• Perform basic grading and site preparation activities as trained.
• Conduct pre-operation inspections of assigned equipment.
• Check fluid levels, tires or tracks, controls, safety equipment, and general equipment condition before operation.
• Report mechanical problems, damage, or unsafe equipment conditions immediately.
• Maintain awareness of workers, vehicles, equipment, and changing conditions throughout the construction site.
• Follow directions from supervisors, foremen, and experienced equipment operators.
• Follow designated traffic patterns and equipment operating areas.
• Assist with general labor and construction site duties when equipment operation is not required.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Follow all company and construction site safety procedures.
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Perform additional construction and equipment-related duties as assigned.

Depending on the project and training provided, employees may learn to operate equipment such as:

• Excavators
• Front-end loaders
• Skid steers
• Bulldozers
• Backhoes
• Compaction equipment
• Off-road construction equipment
• Other heavy equipment used for site preparation and material movement.

No previous heavy equipment experience necessary. Training will be provided.

This position is performed at an active outdoor construction site in Sanderson, Florida. Employees should be prepared to work in Florida outdoor conditions, including:

• Heat and humidity
• Direct sunlight
• Dust and dirt
• Mud and wet conditions
• Uneven terrain
• Noise and vibration
• Moving vehicles and heavy equipment
• Changing weather conditions
• Safety procedures and required PPE must be followed at all times.
