Role Description The Senior Estimator – Commercial Roofing is a full-time, on-site position based in Jacksonville, FL. This role is responsible for leading the estimating process for commercial roofing projects, including reviewing plans and specifications, performing thorough roof takeoffs, and preparing accurate, competitive bids. Day-to-day tasks include analyzing project requirements, assessing labor, materials, and equipment costs, coordinating with project managers and field supervisors, and collaborating with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing.

The Senior Estimator will participate in client meetings, support proposal presentations, and help refine estimating standards, templates, and processes to improve efficiency and consistency. This role also involves tracking project budgets versus estimates, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and mentoring junior estimators to ensure high-quality work across the estimating team.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated expertise in commercial roofing estimating, including experience with TPO, metal, and flat roofing systems, as well as familiarity with local building codes and industry best practices.
• Strong technical skills in reading and interpreting architectural and structural drawings, specifications, and bid documents, along with proficiency in digital takeoff and estimating software.
• Solid analytical and mathematical abilities for cost modeling, quantity takeoffs, budgeting, and bid comparison, with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with owners, general contractors, suppliers, and internal project teams, including the ability to present estimates and justify assumptions.
• Proven organizational and time management skills to handle multiple bids and deadlines, prioritize tasks, and maintain thorough documentation.
• Previous experience in commercial roofing or construction estimating at a senior or lead level; experience in the Jacksonville or Northeast Florida market is highly beneficial.

• Relevant education such as a degree or diploma in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
