Logistics Specialist
The Logistics Specialist supports customers and internal teams by managing logistics-related inquiries, coordinating trucking activities, and ensuring accurate documentation for imports and exports. This role handles customer communication across phone, email, and in-person channels while maintaining detailed records and reports to support efficient logistics operations.
Responsibilities
- Handle customer inquiries via phone, email, and in-person interactions, providing professional and timely support.
- Manage customer accounts by monitoring requests, updating information, and ensuring accurate follow-through on all logistics activities.
- Provide accurate information about services, including logistics and trucking capabilities, and address customer concerns effectively.
- Collaborate with internal departments to facilitate timely and satisfactory resolutions to customer issues and service requests.
- Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, transactions, and logistics activities in an organized and accurate manner.
- Perform data entry tasks related to logistics, customer information, and documentation, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
- Prepare, review, and maintain reports related to logistics operations, customer service activities, and performance metrics.
- Support import and export processes by managing documentation and ensuring proper document handling and storage.
- Use email correspondence and customer service software to manage communications and track open issues through to resolution.
- Utilize Microsoft Office, including Excel, to create, update, and analyze documents, spreadsheets, and reports.
- Assist with documentation management for logistics operations, ensuring all records are properly organized and accessible.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment by sharing information, supporting colleagues, and participating in continuous improvement efforts.
Essential Skills
- At least 1 year of office-related administrative or customer service experience.
- A minimum of 6 months of logistics or trucking knowledge.
- Proven experience in a customer service role, handling inbound and outbound calls and email correspondence.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle inquiries professionally and effectively.
- Experience with inbound calls, outbound calls, and managing multiple communication channels.
- Proficiency in email correspondence, including clear written communication and timely responses.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, for data entry, reporting, and documentation.
- Experience with data entry and maintaining accurate records and reports.
- Familiarity with logistics operations, trucking coordination, and related processes.
- Experience working with reports, including creating, updating, and interpreting data.
- Proficiency in using customer service software and tools to manage interactions and track issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage documentation and records in a structured and organized manner.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jacksonville, FL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
