This is a highly responsible position working under minimal supervision of the Dental Executive Director of the Florida Department of Health in Duval County (FDOH-Duval). A senior dentist is a Florida licensed dentist responsible for oversight in a FDOH-Duval County Dental Clinic and is responsible for providing professional oversight for clinic operations. This includes the delivery of clinical care by licensed dentists and hygienists and any other auxiliary dental staff.
In addition, this position provides professional dental services consisting of examination, diagnosis, treatment planning, and care of conditions within the human oral cavity and its adjacent tissues and structures, including emergency, surgical, preventive, and restorative dental care to Medicaid Children and clients who are members of other programs in which DOH-Duval participates.
The successful candidate will be required to complete the Form I-9 and that information will be verified using the E-Verify system. E-Verify is operated by the Department of Homeland Security in partnership with the Social Security Administration to verify employment eligibility. Incumbents may be required to perform emergency duty before, during, and/or beyond normal work hours or days. All Florida Department of Health positions require the incumbent to be able to learn and communicate effectively, orally and in writing, in English.
