Position: Dentist (General Practice) Jobs

Job Title

Restorations using direct and indirect dental restorative materials.

Perform comprehensive oral examinations.

Perform endodontic procedures (root canal therapy).

Perform oral surgery procedures.

Perform prosthetic work to replace missing teeth.

Apply corrective treatment where proper occlusion is difficult to attain.

Perform prophylaxis treatment, scaling and root planning, individual oral health counseling and patient education.

Perform expanded function/multi-chair dentistry employing a two dental treatment room, two dental technician and one provider practice model.

Perform various administrative duties in the management of a dental practice/clinic.

Ensure compliance with management policies and procedures.

Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.

Applicants must be able to distinguish shades of color.

This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.

This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random drug testing.

All applicants tentatively selected for this position will be required to submit a urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment.

This position has mandatory seasonal Influenza vaccination requirements and is subject to annual seasonal Influenza vaccinations unless otherwise exempted for medical or religious reasons.

Immunization screening is required.

This position requires the incumbent to have Tuberculosis testing.

This position is subject to TDY or business travel requirements to various locations.

This position may require the incumbent to work on call during irregular work hours.

This position has been designated Mission Essential.

This position requires the incumbent to fulfill credentialing requirements and obtain and maintain appropriate/relevant clinical privileges.

This position requires that you obtain and maintain a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

In order to qualify, you must meet the EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE requirements described below.

Basic Requirement for Dentist (General Practice-Dentistry):

Education:

Applicants must possess a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from a school approved by the American Dental Association (ADA) or the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. Licensure:
Applicants must have passed the National Board Dental Examinations (NBDE) which are developed and administered by the Joint Commission on National Dental Examinations (JCNDE) and possess a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice dentistry in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Experience and/or

Education Required:

A. Applicants must have completed a 3-year residency program in dentistry, oral health, craniofacial sciences, or a related medical science. OR

B. Applicants must have three years of professional dentistry experience and/or training, equivalent to the next lower grade level (GP-12). OR

C. Applicants must have completed a residency program in dentistry, oral health, craniofacial sciences, or a related medical science AND professional dentistry experience and/or training equivalent to the next lower grade level (GP-12). When combining residency program and professional dentistry experience and/or training to qualify, the total must be equal to or greater than three years.
