Senior Architect

AE7 is looking for a Senior Architect for our Jacksonville Office to work on project work in the region. Candidates should have at least 10+ years of project experience in the Florida market understanding project types, construction methodologies, Florida codes, and client connections. Project responsibilities could also expand into AE7 project workload in the US and internationally if desired, but the position would still be based in Jacksonville.

Preferred candidates will have expertise in one or more of the following fields and/or have a good foundation in the general practice of multiple project types.

• Civic
• Higher Education
• Hospitality
• Mixed-Use Developments
• Residential / Multi-Family Residential

Candidates should have experience in project management and excel at the ability to execute a project from concept design through construction documentation with little to no supervision. This position could develop to lead the architectural division for the Florida Region depending on candidate’s credentials and experience.

Responsibilities:

• Able to project manage and/or work through concept, schematic, design development, construction documentation, construction administration, and project close-out stages
• Able to manage / mentor employees / project team(s)
• Able to coordinate and manage consultants and other disciplines
• Able to scope potential projects / proposals, manage deliverables and schedules, manage fees/profitability

Qualifications & Skills:

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in architecture / architecture interiors
• Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture
• Licensure in the State of Florida
• Strong knowledge of local Florida Building Codes, IBC, ADA and life safety requirements and the ability to navigate local city / municipality requirements
• Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines efficiently
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Desired

Skills:

• Ability to use some of the following:
  Bluebeam, Revit, AutoCAD, Sketch up, InDesign and Illustrator
• LEED / Well Building / Passive House certification
• Business Development skills / Networking involvement
