Virtual Design and Construction Planner

Responsibilities

• Planning, layout, and design of electrical installations
• Comprehensive knowledge of electrical systems, construction documents, and quality construction work practices
• Identify ways to infuse quality and labor savings into overall layout efforts
• Collaborate with the Project Coordinator via VDC Planner Production Supervisor’s appointment
• Review construction documents (drawings and specifications), noting key items from a VDC viewpoint on the PLD Dashboard
• Aid in creation of detailed bill of materials for the Inwall Task only
• Plan and lay out work for modeler’s use
• Develop a 2D document plan based on specs, drawing notes, design drawings, and applicable codes for the modeler to create a digital model while instituting QA parameters
• Maintain regular contact with project personnel and collaborate on project requirements
• Perform other duties as assigned by management

• Licensed journeyman with 1–3 years of running work on construction site
• Willingness to learn and efficiently use software such as Bluebeam and Microsoft 365
• Experience with team collaboration
• Problem‑solving ability and ability to work under rigorous schedules
• Organizational and communication skills
• Proficient in reading and understanding all forms of construction documents
• Ability to interpret 2D plans and provide input to a 3D model
• Commitment to continued learning and development
• Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast‑paced environment
