In the  school year, the KIPP Jacksonville region will be comprised of four schools educating more than 3,000 students, kindergarten through twelfth grade in the North and West sides of Jacksonville, Florida.

Job Description

KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools seeks to grow the career and technical program at our high school by adding a CTE instructor to our team. We seek teachers who are comfortable teaching anatomy and physiology, health science, and/or a combination of science coursework to students who are in years one through three of their CTE track in health science. Success will be measured by students gaining industry certification(s) at the end of their program.

As the school grows, teachers will lead classes across multiple grade levels and/or sections, and ideally run a club or enrichment block. The CTE teachers would ensure students are exposed to rigorous and foundational health science material and can meet the state’s industry certification examination requirements. This position would work closely with the electives department. Teachers are responsible for creating a positive classroom environment, implementing curriculum, assessing students, collaborating with their team, building relationships with families, and other duties as assigned.

Full teacher responsibilities are outlined by their school leader. The location of Bold City High School is 1440 McDuff Avenue North.

Responsibilities
  • Lead CTE instruction in anatomy and physiology, health science, and related courses across multiple grade levels.
  • Assist students in earning industry certifications and prepare for state examinations.
  • Collaborate with the electives department and teaching teams; develop engaging curriculum; assess and monitor student progress.
  • Foster a positive classroom environment; build relationships with families and stakeholders; participate in meetings and clubs or enrichment blocks as assigned.

  • Our current starting salary for a first-year lead teacher is $50,000

Qualifications REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field
  • Relevant health science profession with 2–6 years of experience, depending on the role
  • Relevant credential/license for health profession and ability to maintain during employment
