Assistant​/Associate Professor of Mathematics

GENERAL

SUMMARY:

Edward Waters University in Jacksonville, Florida is seeking candidates for the position of Assistant/Associate Professor of Mathematics. This is a full-time, nine-month, tenure track position.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Doctorate or another appropriate tenninal degree from a regionally accredited college or university in Mathematics or a closely related discipline.
• Commitment to high-quality instruction in a student-centered environment.
• Proficiency in active and collaborative learning and use of instructional technology
• Prior college-level teaching is expected and online teaching experience is prefe

ITed.
• Evidence of success or potential for success in scholarship, grant procurement, and publication is expected.
• Experience with Quality Matters standards for online teaching is preferred.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Primary responsibilities and duties are to perform tasks in the area of Mathematics that include but are not limited to the following:
• Plan for and provide instruction in the area of Mathematics
• Design and implement relevant and progressing curriculum
• Deliver high-quality instrnction through the planning and implementation of effective learning strategies and environments
• Create perfo1mance-based assessments aligned with competencies through formative and summative measures
• Promote student success through timely communication, growth-based feedback. and the implementation of strategies that meet the needs of diverse learners.
• Meet professional expectations by maintaining professional currency and contributing to a collaborative culture across the University.
• Teach (12 credit hours per semester) some or all developmental and higher level mathematics courses.
• Provide leadership role in all departmental activities such as participating in the new curriculum development, providing mentoring and advising students.
• The successful candidate must have a strong commitment and demonstrate effective teaching strategies.
• Need to plan and develop new classes, prepare course materials, exams, assignments and assist in team-teaching courses.
• Use computer and other modem technologies in the daily class room setting such as o "Maple", "Mathcad", "Math Lab", "Origin Lab", and other available math computer software in teaching math courses o Graphing Calculators (TI 83 Plus) Please include the following in PDF format:
