Position Summary:

Implements quality programs, to foster individual growth and development of children in our YMCA of Florida's First Coast YReads program.

Beauclerc - 4555 Craven Rd W, Jacksonville, FL 32257

Essential Functions:

* Tutors struggling readers in K-3.

* Maintains a good relationship with parents through regular communication and active participation in planned activities.

* Remains constantly aware of the growing needs of each child, offering new and enriching experiences as each child reaches each level of development.

* Provides appropriate academic assistance to students.

* Executes daily lesson plans for each tutoring session.

* Assists the Program Director with student progress by use of pre-tests, mid-year tests and post-tests as well as FAIR assessments.

Qualifications:

* High School degree is required.

* CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire date.

* Previous experience working with children in a developmental setting preferred.

* Ability to implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities.

* Ability to work as a team member.

* Practices caring, respect, faith, honesty, and responsibility.

* Flexibility, resourcefulness and high energy.

* Must pass a Level 2 Background Screening. Level 2 is a fingerprint check of state and federal criminal history information conducted through the Florida Department of law Enforcement (FDLE) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

Physical Demands:

Ability to plan, lead and participate in activities.
