Position Overview
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry is seeking a 9‑Month, non‑tenure earning, Visiting Laboratory Lecturer of Chemistry. Position responsibilities include a 5/5 teaching load or its equivalent, and service to the department, college, and university. The position will report to the Department Chair and is not a supervisory role. Working hours vary. The position is expected to begin on August 3, 2026.
The job is open until filled.
- Teach introductory and general chemistry laboratory courses, as well as laboratory courses in modern analytical, biochemistry, physical, and/or organic chemistry, depending on candidate experience.
- Prepare chemicals and equipment to ensure laboratory spaces are properly maintained and ready for instructional use.
- Collaborate with the Laboratory Manager and Laboratory Technician to provide laboratory support each term.
- Determine supplies and consumables to be ordered to support instructional laboratory activities.
- Previous, documented experience in teaching undergraduate chemistry laboratory courses.
- Demonstrated commitment and capability to provide an excellent learning environment, apply student‑centered instructional methods, and contribute to the development and implementation of curricular content.
