Job Description

Teacher Starting Salary: $48,700. Additional Referendum money available for the next three years starting at $5,400 for the 25-26 school year. Teachers hired during the school year will receive a prorated supplement amount based on the date of hire.

Job Summary

Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and establishes clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects to communicate these objectives to students. Employs a variety of instructional techniques and media, consistent with physical limitations and student needs. Strives to implement the District’s philosophy of education and instructional goals.

Essential Functions

Meet and instruct assigned classes as designated.

Plan a program of study that meets individual student needs, interests, and abilities. Prepare assigned classes and provide written evidence upon request.

Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to maturity.

Supervise students to protect them from harmful conditions and ensure safety.

Assess student accomplishments regularly and provide progress reports as required. Maintain accurate records per law, policy, and regulation.

Diagnose learning disabilities regularly, seeking assistance of District specialists as needed.

Assist administration in implementing policies and rules governing student life and conduct, develop classroom behavior rules and maintain order.

Be available to students and parents outside instructional day when required or requested.

Plan and supervise assignments for teacher aides/volunteers and evaluate their performance.

Attend staff meetings and serve on staff committees as required.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: None.

Certifications & Licenses: Must be eligible for Florida Department of Education certification in appropriate subject area.

Knowledge of subject content
Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Strong time management skills
Strong organizational skills
Strong word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software skills
Ability to plan and implement a program of study that meets individual student needs
Ability to devote additional hours beyond the workday for grading, lesson planning, etc.
Ability to manage students
Ability to manage multiple tasks

Position Type: Full-Time

Salary: $48,700 to $78,900 Per Year
