Job Description

At KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools, the School Principal’s primary role is to be the instructional leader of the building, driving high‑quality academic results and a positive school environment for students and staff.

Note: This posting is for the School Principal position “pool”. We will interview candidates now and consider them for future openings. Please only apply if you meet the specific requirements outlined below.

Responsibilities
  • Be the face of the school, its biggest cheerleader and loudest advocate.
  • Set ambitious, KIPP‑aligned, school‑wide vision and goals that provide students with choice upon graduation.
  • Plan and prioritize time and resources to achieve annual goals.
  • Cultivate a diverse, high‑potential leadership pipeline and coach team members to become owners of work.
  • Model expectations for leaders, teachers, and students on school‑wide practices for a positive learning culture.
  • Build a joyful, academically excellent environment.
  • Build trusting relationships with and among all stakeholders.
  • Implement restorative practices for all stakeholders.

  • Cultivate Principal’s own success and sustainability through ongoing learning.
  • Be a lifelong learner.
  • Actively share best practices and learning with the School Principal Team.

  • Starting salary for a first‑year School Principal: $92,000.
