Assistant Professor of Statistics (9‑month, tenure‑earning)
Position will report to Dr. Richard Patterson, Chair of the Department of Mathematics & Statistics. This position will be primarily engaged in teaching, research, and service.
Responsibilities- Teach a 2/2 teaching load.
- Maintain an active research agenda with potential for sponsored research.
- Contribute to service opportunities within the department and the university.

We are one of the largest departments at UNF, offering undergraduate degrees in B.S. Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Sciences, Discrete Analysis, B.A. Mathematics, Statistics, and Applied Mathematics, and graduate programs including a Master of Science in Mathematical Sciences with Mathematics and Statistics tracks. The department is transitioning to an R2 institution focusing on increasing research while maintaining teaching excellence.
Required Qualifications- Ph.D. in Statistics (or recognized terminal degree) from an acceptable accredited institution, conferral by August 1, 2026.
- Demonstrated teaching effectiveness.
- Current research portfolio.
- Excellence in future scholarly agenda.
