General Description / Primary Purpose
Part‑time adjunct faculty position in the Department of Clinical & Applied Movement Sciences. Adjunct faculty are employed on a semester‑by‑semester basis, as needed, and are non‑tenure‑earning. The role involves teaching assigned courses, holding office hours, and mentoring students.
Position Responsibilities- Teach assigned course(s) in accordance with the approved syllabus and course schedule.
- Hold scheduled office hours with frequency and modality negotiated with the program director and department chair.
- Mentor students.
Part‑time work schedule varies.
Required Licensure- Kinesiology (undergraduate and graduate): N/A
- Athletic Training:
Board of Certification, Florida licensure or eligibility for athletic training licensure in Florida.
Adjunct faculty are paid a minimum of $1000 per credit hour.
Required Qualifications- Kinesiology Undergraduate
- Earned master’s degree in Exercise Science (or related field).
- Kinesiology Graduate
- Earned doctoral degree in Exercise Science (or related field).
- Athletic Training
- Earned doctoral degree in biomechanics, exercise science, sports medicine, or a related field.
- Certification and good standing with the Board of Certification.
- Current Florida licensure or eligibility for athletic training licensure in Florida.
- Kinesiology Undergraduate and Graduate:
Record of diverse teaching experiences in course areas needed for the department. - Athletic Training:
Record of diverse teaching experiences in course areas needed for the department. - American College of Sports Medicine, National Strength and Conditioning Associations, and other related certifications.
- Current curriculum vitae.
- Cover letter.
- Names, phone numbers, and email addresses of three professional references (requested during the application review stage).
- Official transcripts and, if applicable, U.S. degree equivalency evaluations documenting the conferral of qualifying academic credentials by the date of hire.
This position requires a background check. In conjunction with the University’s policy, a credit check may also be required. The holder of this position is designated as a “Responsible Employee” under Title
IX. The incumbent must promptly report allegations of sexual misconduct, sexual violence, or child sexual abuse to the University’s Title
IX Administrator or any divisional Title
IX Coordinator.
