Overview

Department:
School of Communication. Compensation: $51,000.00 to Negotiable. The School of Communication is seeking a 9‑month, non‑tenure track Visiting Instructor of Communication Studies. This position reports to the Director of the School of Communication.

Primary Purpose

Teach undergraduate courses: four speech courses in fall 2026 and four speech courses in spring 2027, as assigned by the Department Director. This temporary appointment is full‑time for the stated term.

Responsibilities
  • Teach four undergraduate speech courses in fall 2026.
  • Teach four undergraduate speech courses in spring 2027.
  • Demonstrate effectiveness in face‑to‑face and online teaching.
  • Participate in curriculum improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Communication or a closely related field.
  • Experience teaching introductory speech courses (e.g., SPC 2608‑Fundamentals of Speech).
  • Evidence of teaching effectiveness.
Additional Requirements
  • Provide current curriculum vitae.
  • Provide a cover letter discussing teaching experience and evidence of effectiveness.
  • Provide official transcripts and, if applicable, U.S. degree equivalency evaluations.
  • Provide passport (all pages) and Form DS‑160 or an explanation if never submitted.
