KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools is part of the KIPP national network. In the 2026-27 school year, the KIPP Jacksonville region will be comprised of four schools educating more than 3,000 students, kindergarten through twelfth grade in the North and West sides of Jacksonville, Florida.

* KIPP Impact Academy:
Kindergarten - 4th grade, 6th - 8th grade

* KIPP VOICE Academy:
Kindergarten - 8th grade

* KIPP Bessie Coleman Academy:
Kindergarten - 8th grade

* KIPP Bold City High School: 9th - 12th grade

For the current school year, teachers at KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools work the following hours Monday through Friday and may have occasional meetings or special school events outside of these hours. Hours for teachers and students may vary slightly by school.

* K-8 Staff: 7:30am - 4:30pm K-8 Students: 8:00am - 3:30pm, Wednesday K-8 dismissal is at 1:30pm

* High School Staff: 6:45am - 3:45pm, High School Students: 7:15am - 2:30pm, Wednesday High School dismissal is at 12:30pm.

Every Wednesday is a student early release day, which allows teachers to participate in weekly professional development and content team meetings.
* This doesn't include Wellness Wednesdays when all staff leave at student dismissal.

Job Description

JOB OVERVIEW

KIPP Jacksonville seeks lunch monitors for their K-8 campuses. Each lunch monitor works a daily shift during the lunch hours of students at the school to ensure the safety and well-being of the students, staff and school facilities.

During the daily shift, the lunch monitor will supervise students by:

* Ensuring that norms and expectations for the cafeteria are adhered to by using positive reinforcement, stating clear expectations for students, and following the school's steps to manage all student behavior(s)

* Maintaining the schedule for grade levels (i.e. overseeing transitions, monitoring time, giving time warnings, etc.)

* Assist, as needed, to get students through the serving line

* Assist, as needed, to direct students to table(s)

* Warmly interacting with students while they eat

To be successful in this role, candidates should enjoy spending time with elementary students, be flexible when needed, and excel at helping a schedule to run smoothly.

Additional Information

Hourly rate: $14/hour

Schedule:

2-4 hours per day, M-F

Maximum hours worked per week would be 20
