Elementary Teacher - 2nd grade

DESCRIPTION

We are seeking dedicated and positive 2nd grade teacher to instruct students in the  school year. Our ideal candidate will create a nurturing learning environment, develop engaging lesson plans, and encourage academic growth across core subjects.

Experience with a whole child approach, classroom management, and working with diverse learners is essential.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with state standards and curriculum goals.
• Deliver engaging instruction across subjects such as literacy education, math, science, and social studies.
• Utilize learning technology and innovative teaching methods to enhance student understanding.
• Assess student progress through formative and summative evaluations, including standardized testing preparations.
• Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a positive learning environment.
• Provide individualized support and small group instruction for students needing extra assistance, including those with special education needs.
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, school activities, and school-wide initiatives such as PBIS.
• Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student progress and behavioral concerns.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field; teaching certification for elementary grades required.
• Proven classroom experience working with children in grades 3-5 preferred.
• Strong knowledge of literacy education, math instruction, and classroom management techniques.
• Familiarity with standardized testing procedures and assessment tools.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively engage students, parents, and colleagues.
