Job Summary

The Department of Sociology at Jacksonville University invites applications for adjunct positions to teach undergraduate courses in the areas of:

* Introductory Sociology

* Environmental Sociology

* Sociology of Leadership and Organizations

In-person or hybrid instruction is preferred; applications for fully online instruction will be considered.

Duties/Responsibilities

Adjunct faculty members must perform all duties associated with teaching courses at the post-secondary level, including:

* Providing lectures.

* Leading class discussions.

* Writing exams, grading exams, and providing feedback on other assignments.

* Providing prompt responses to student questions.

Required Skills/Abilities

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

* Excellent time management skills.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

* Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.

* Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Experience

* Applicant must possess either a Ph.D. or a Master's degree in Sociology, or 18 graduate credit hours earned in Sociology.
