Position OverviewKIPP Jacksonville Schools seeks an In-School Suspension (ISS) Coordinator at the following campuses:
- KIPP Impact Academy K-8
- KIPP Bessie Coleman Academy K-8
This role will help ensure the school community is invested in a vision of positive school culture. The ISS Coordinator supervises students in a classroom setting during typical school days to support students completing academic work, reflections, etc., when needed. The ISS Coordinator works with students across all grade levels and collaborates with the Behavior Interventionist, teachers, counselors, and school administrators to ensure all students are able to learn in a safe, positive, and welcoming environment.
Specific Duties- Create a structured environment when students are referred to ISS
- Help support behavior intervention plans for students, including documentation, de-escalating student behavior, family communication, staff check-ins, etc.
- Communicate with families about student progress
- Support tracking referral data
- Assist in the school community when no students are in ISS, as directed by the school administration
As a part of the school-based non-instructional team, this role is responsible for creating a restorative environment for all students, building relationships with families, collaborating with the team, and other duties as assigned. Full responsibilities are outlined by the School Leader. Typical hours reflect the school’s operating hours. This role is a 10-month schedule but is paid year round.
Compensation- The starting salary for this role is $40,000

- At least one year in an urban education setting as a full-time professional with experience working with students in small groups or whole groups
- Associate’s degree or at least 60 hours of continuing education documented

- Previous experience with ISS
- Bachelor’s degree
