Overview
Job Title: ESE Teacher
Location: Arts Campus – Jacksonville, FL
Job Type: Full-Time | 10-Month Contract
Salary: Starting at $49,500 (based on experience)
Global Leadership Academy is seeking a dedicated and student-centered Exceptional Student Education (ESE) Teacher for our Arts Campus. The ideal candidate is passionate about supporting students with diverse learning needs, implementing individualized instruction, and collaborating with families and staff to promote academic and behavioral success.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities- Provide specialized instruction and support to students with exceptional learning needs
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal guidelines
- Differentiate instruction to meet individual student goals and accommodations
- Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusion and student achievement
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation and compliance records
- Conduct progress monitoring and participate in IEP meetings
- Maintain regular communication with parents/guardians regarding student progress and support plans
- Foster a structured, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment
- Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and school-wide initiatives
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- Valid Florida ESE Certification or eligibility for certification
- Knowledge of IEP development, accommodations, and compliance requirements
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with staff, families, and support personnel
- 3+ years of teaching experience in Exceptional Student Education
- ESOL Endorsement
- Experience working in inclusion and resource settings
- Strong background in behavior management and intervention strategies
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the classroom for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally
- Ability to actively supervise and support students in various school settings
- Monday through Friday
- 8-hour shift
