Special Education Teacher - Jacksonville, FL

Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher, guiding students in a self-contained ESE classroom within a supportive elementary environment in the Jacksonville, FL area. This contract position begins in early August and extends through late May, offering a consistent schedule of 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday, at a single campus location. You will work closely with students who present varied learning needs and exceptionalities, helping them reach their fullest potential in an inclusive academic setting.

Qualifications &

Experience:

• Valid Florida ESE Certification, plus K-6 or PK-3 General Education Certification (required)
• Demonstrated experience with self-contained classrooms, preferably at the elementary level
• Thorough understanding of differentiated instruction and IEP implementation
• Commitment to fostering a positive, structured, and inclusive learning environment
• Ability to collaborate effectively with support staff, administration, and families
• Must complete required fingerprinting or provide verification if previously completed in a Florida school district
• Willingness to participate in a virtual prescreen interview

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a self-contained ESE classroom, adapting lessons to meet diverse learning needs
• Develop and implement IEPs in partnership with team members and families
• Monitor student progress and tailor interventions as needed
