In the 2026‑2027 school year the Jacksonville region will comprise four schools educating over 3,000 students, kindergarten‑through‑12th grade, in the North and Westsides of Jacksonville, Florida.

  • KIPP Impact Academy:
    Kindergarten – 8th grade
  • KIPP VOICE Academy:
    Kindergarten – 8th grade
  • KIPP Bessie Coleman Academy:
    Kindergarten – 8th grade
  • KIPP Bold City High School: 9th – 12th grade

Teacher work hours vary slightly by school.

  • K‑8 Staff: 7:30 am – 4:30 pm. Students: 8:00 am – 3:30 pm. Wednesday K‑8 dismissal at 1:30 pm.
  • High School Staff: 6:45 am – 3:45 pm. Students: 7:15 am – 2:30 pm. Wednesday High School dismissal at 12:30 pm.

Every Wednesday is a student early‑release day so teachers can attend professional development and content team meetings. Wellness Wednesdays allow all staff to leave at student dismissal.

We will employ approximately 300 full‑time staff members and seek educators who embody high expectations, a growth mindset, commitment to team, trust, joy, and sustainability. Position Overview

KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools seeks Learning Specialists (LS) for the 2026‑27 school year. The LS ensures compliance with all IEPs, teaches small groups, facilitates general‑education support, and collaborates with families through the special‑education process. The LS supports multiple grade levels, facilitates the RTI process with staff, holds regular IEP meetings, and works directly with students to meet IEP goals. All LSs create a positive classroom environment, implement curriculum, assess students, collaborate with teams, build relationships with families, and carry out other duties as assigned.

Full teacher responsibilities are ultimately outlined by the School Principal.

Compensation and Benefits

Starting salary for a first‑year Learning Specialist is $50,000.

Qualifications Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Relevant Florida Teaching Certification or Eligibility for Certification (ESE K‑12).
  • At least one complete year of teaching experience with a proven track‑record of high achievement.
