Clinical Instructor, Mathematics

General Description

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics is seeking a 9‑month, non‑tenure‑earning, Clinical Instructor of Mathematics. The primary role is the coordination and oversight of the Algebra program, providing academic leadership, ensuring consistency across sections, supervising and mentoring GTAs, and collaborating with Lower Division Directors and stakeholders on curriculum and assessment.

• Lead the Algebra coordination and supervise curriculum and assessment.
• Oversee the Algebra Step‑Back program.
• Ensure consistency across all sections in course structure, assessments, grading, and expectations for GTAs and instructors.
• Supervise and mentor GTAs teaching algebra courses.
• Facilitate regular meetings, training sessions, and communication with algebra instructors.
• Collaborate with Lower Division Directors and other stakeholders on curriculum and assessment.
• Report to the Department Chair (though the position is not a supervisory role in the administrative sense).

• Minimum master’s degree in a field of instruction by the start date.
• Experience in algebra instruction or curriculum coordination is desirable.

• Background check required; may also require a credit check per university policy.
• Designation as a Responsible Employee under Title IX; must promptly report allegations of sexual misconduct, violence, or abuse.

Working hours vary. Position is 9 months and non‑tenure‑earning. Anticipated start date:
