Job Description
Salary: $48,700 (starting salary). Referendum money available for the 2026‑27 school year: approximately $7,000 supplement. Teachers hired during the school year receive prorated supplement based on hire date.
Job Summary
Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and in harmony with the district’s goals, establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects, and the like to communicate these objectives to students. Employs a variety of instructional techniques and media, consistent with location and student needs. Strives to implement the district’s philosophy of education and instructional goals.
Essential Functions- Meet and instruct assigned classes in the designated locations and times.
- Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students; prepare for classes and provide written evidence of preparation upon request.
- Create a classroom environment conducive to learning appropriate to students’ maturity and interests.
- Supervise students to protect them from harmful conditions and ensure safety of students and materials.
- Assess student accomplishments regularly and provide progress reports as required. Maintain accurate records per law and district policy.
- Diagnose learning disabilities of students regularly and seek assistance from district specialists as needed.
- Assist administration in implementing policies and rules governing student life; establish reasonable classroom behavior rules and maintain order fairly.
- Be available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside instructional time when required or requested under reasonable terms.
- Plan and supervise assignments for teacher aide(s) or volunteer(s); evaluate their performance cooperatively with department heads.
- Attend staff meetings and serve on staff committees as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience: None.
Certifications & Licenses: Must be eligible for Florida Department of Education Certification in appropriate subject area.
