POSITION OVERVIEW
KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools seeks Learning Specialists (LS) for the 2026-27 school year. The LS focuses on ensuring that KIPP Jacksonville is in compliance with all Individual Education Plans (IEPs), teaching small groups of students, providing support facilitation in general education settings, and working with families around the special education process. The LS will typically work with multiple grade levels, help facilitate the RtI process with staff, facilitate regular meetings around student IEPs, and work directly with students to ensure their IEP goals are met.
RESPONSIBILITIESAll Learning Specialists are responsible for creating a positive classroom environment, implementing our curriculum, assessing students, collaborating with their team, building relationships with our families, and other duties as assigned. Full teacher responsibilities are ultimately outlined by their School Principal.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITSOur current starting salary for a first-year Learning Specialist is $50,000.

- * The salary offered in the Docu Sign doesn’t include any stipends for which the candidate may be eligible. In our current year of paying out millage stipends, certified New-to-KIPP instructional staff received a historical average of $11,000 with the addition of receiving TSIA stipends. There are other opportunities to earn money at KIPP Jax in the form of additional stipends.
This role will only be eligible for instructional stipends if they have their FLDOE certification. - *** This offering is subject to change each school year. Terms would be outlined in an offer letter, if issued.
- Bachelor's Degree
- Relevant Florida Teaching Certification or Eligibility for Certification (ESE K-12)
- At least one complete year of teaching experience with a proven track‑record of high achievement in the classroom

HIGHLY PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Florida Reading Endorsement (or reading competency coursework in progress)
- Additional certifications in K‑6 or other subject area the LS supports in
- Two or more years of teaching experience with a proven track‑record of high achievement in the classroom
