Job Title: Teacher – High Math 6‑12
Starting Date: Immediately
Salary: $48,700–$78,900 per year, with additional $7,730 referendum money available for the 26‑27 school year.
Job Description: Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals. Establishes clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects; communicates them to students; employs a variety of instructional techniques and media; and implements the District's philosophy and instructional goals.
Essential Functions- Meet and instruct assigned classes at designated times and locations.
- Plan a program of study tailored to individual student needs, interests, and abilities, and provide written evidence of preparation.
- Create a classroom environment conducive to learning, appropriate for student maturity and interests.
- Supervise students to protect their safety and well‑being, taking all reasonable precautions.
- Assess student accomplishments regularly and provide progress reports; maintain accurate records as required by law.
- Diagnose learning disabilities regularly, seeking assistance from district specialists as needed.
- Implement student life and conduct policies, develop classroom rules, maintain order fairly, and encourage students to uphold standards.
- Be available to students and parents for education‑related matters outside the instructional day under reasonable terms.
- Plan and supervise assignments for teacher aides/volunteers; evaluate their performance cooperatively with department heads.
- Attend staff meetings and serve on staff committees as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. - Experience:
None. - Certification:
Eligible for Florida Department of Education certification in the appropriate subject area.
- Knowledge of subject content.
- Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentation software.
- Ability to plan and implement a student‑centered program of study.
- Ability to devote additional hours beyond the workday for grading, lesson planning, etc.
- Ability to manage students and multiple tasks.
