Job DescriptionStarting Salary: $48,700 per year. Additional Referendum money available for the next two years, beginning at $7,730 for the 26‑27 school year. Teachers hired during the school year receive a prorated supplement based on hire date.
Job Summary
Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals in harmony with district objectives. Establishes clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects and communicates these objectives to students using a variety of instructional techniques and media, consistent with the physical limitations of the classroom and the needs of the students.
Essential Functions- Meets and instructs assigned classes at designated locations and times.
- Plans a program of study that meets students’ individual needs, interests, and abilities; prepares thoroughly and provides written evidence of preparation upon request.
- Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
- Supervises students to protect them from conditions harmful to learning or their mental and/or physical health and safety; takes all necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Assesses student accomplishments regularly and provides progress reports as required while maintaining accurate, complete, and correct records.
- Diagnoses learning disabilities on a regular basis and seeks assistance from district specialists as required.
- Assists administration in implementing policies and rules governing student life and conduct; develops reasonable classroom behavior rules and maintains order in a fair and just manner.
- Is available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested under reasonable terms.
- Plans and supervises purposeful assignments for teacher aides/volunteers; evaluates their performance cooperatively with department heads.
- Attends staff meetings and serves on staff committees as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience: None.
Certifications & Licenses: Must be eligible for Florida Department of Education Certification in the appropriate subject area.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities- Knowledge of subject content.
- Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
- Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software.
- Ability to plan and implement a program of study that meets individual student needs.
- Ability to devote additional hours beyond the workday for grading, lesson‑plan preparation, etc.
- Ability to manage students and multiple tasks.

Salary: $48,700 to $77,900 per year
