About the Opportunity:
Join us as a volunteer workshop assistant for The Mandala Challenge, a free creative arts and mindfulness program for underserved youth ages 5-18. You'll help facilitate monthly workshops where children create mandala artwork while learning focus, calm, and emotional regulation techniques.
Where:Mali Vai Washington Youth Foundation — a 30-year institution serving 200+ youth daily in Jacksonville's Urban Core.
What You'll Do:- Assist with setup and distribution of art supplies
- Support youth during guided breathing and art creation
- Encourage and engage with children as they work
- Help with cleanup and organization
- 1-hour training session (week of May 26-28)
- Monthly workshops: approximately 60-90 minutes per session
- Flexible schedule — we work around your availability
- College students in art, education, psychology, or social work
- Anyone seeking community service or service-learning hours
- Individuals passionate about youth development and mental wellness
- Hands-on experience with a respected youth organization
- Portfolio and resume builder
