KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools
KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools is part of the KIPP national network. Together with families and communities, we create joyful, academically excellent schools that prepare students with the skills and confidence to pursue the paths they choose – college, career, and beyond.
In the 2026–2027 school year, the KIPP Jacksonville region will comprise four schools educating 3,000+ students, kindergarten through twelfth grade, in the North and Westsides of Jacksonville, Florida:

For the current school year, teachers at KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools work the following hours Monday through Friday and may have occasional meetings or special school events outside of these hours.

: 7:30 am–4:30 pm
K-8 Students
: 8:00 am–3:30 pm
Wednesday K-8 dismissal is at 1:30 pm
High School Staff
: 6:45 am–3:45 pm
High School Students
: 7:15 am–2:30 pm
Wednesday High School dismissal is at 12:30 pm.
Every Wednesday is a student early release day, allowing teachers to participate in weekly professional development and content team meetings. This does not include Wellness Wednesdays when all staff leave at student dismissal.
We will employ approximately 300 full-time staff members and seek educators and colleagues that represent our core values of high expectations, growth mindset, commitment to team, trust, joy, and sustainability.
POSITION OVERVIEWKIPP Jacksonville Public Schools seeks Learning Specialists (LS) for the 2026–27 school year. The LS ensures compliance with all Individual Education Plans (IEPs), teaches small groups, provides support facilitation in general education settings, and works with families around the special education process. The LS helps facilitate the RTI process with staff, leads regular meetings around student IEPs, and works directly with students to ensure IEP goals are met.
All Learning Specialists are responsible for creating a positive classroom environment, implementing our curriculum, assessing students, collaborating with their team, building relationships with families, and other duties as assigned. Full teacher responsibilities are outlined by the School Principal.
At the high school level, Learning Specialists provide support through multiple models based on student needs and caseload assignments:
- Push-In Support

Co-teach a general education classroom to provide accommodations, differentiation, and academic support aligned to IEP goals. - Pull-Out Support
:
Provide small‑group instruction in a resource setting for targeted intervention and skill development. - Learning Strategies Course
:
Teach a scheduled class focused on IEP goal progress, academic skills, and postsecondary readiness.
Learning Specialists may serve in one or a combination of these roles.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITSStarting salary for a first‑year Learning Specialist is $50,000.
