Pearl Academy is a 5-star early learning center in Jacksonville serving children ages 2.5–5. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Lead VPK Teacher to join our team.
This position is responsible for leading a VPK classroom, preparing students for kindergarten, and maintaining a structured, engaging, and nurturing learning environment.
Responsibilities- Lead a VPK classroom in alignment with Florida Early Learning Standards
- Implement lesson plans that support kindergarten readiness
- Maintain a safe, structured, and positive classroom environment
- Manage classroom ratios and daily routines
- Conduct student assessments and track developmental progressitation
- Communicate professionally with parents (Brightwheel)
- Collaborate with co-teachers and leadership team
- Ensure compliance with DCF and VPK requirements
- VPK credential (Florida Staff Credential or equivalent)
- Previous experience as a lead teacher in a preschool or VPK setting
- Strong classroom management skills
- Knowledge of DCF licensing standards
- Reliable, professional, and team-oriented
- Passion for early childhood education
- Full-time (Monday–Friday) VPK hours: 9:00 AM – 12:45 PM (plus full-day responsibilities)
