KIPP is hiring a High School Learning Specialist (ESE) to support special education students at KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools. The role involves ensuring compliance with Individual Education Plans (IEPs), providing instruction in small groups and inclusive settings, facilitating the Response to Intervention (RtI) process, collaborating with staff and families, and delivering specialized services tailored to student needs across multiple grade levels.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure compliance with all Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and facilitate regular IEP meetings.
- Provide push‑in co‑teach, pull‑out small‑group instruction, and Learning Strategies classes focused on academic skills and postsecondary readiness.
- Collaborate with staff and families to support students’ special education needs and progress.
- Use multiple service delivery models tailored to student needs at the high school level.
- Assist with the RtI process and coordinate services across grade levels.
- Maintain a positive classroom environment and implement curriculum aligned with IEP goals.
- Push‑in support: co‑teach a general education classroom to provide accommodations, differentiation, and academic support aligned to IEP goals.
- Pull‑out support: deliver small‑group instruction in a resource setting for targeted intervention and skill development.
- Learning Strategies course: teach a scheduled class focused on IEP goal progress, academic skills, and postsecondary readiness.
- Starting salary: $50,000 for first‑year Learning Specialists.
- Stipends available for certified staff (average $11,000 additional).

- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Relevant Florida Teaching Certification or Eligibility for Certification (ESE K‑12).
- At least one complete year of teaching experience with a proven track‑record of high achievement.

- Highly preferred:
Florida Reading Endorsement; additional subject area certifications; two or more years of teaching experience.
