Improves K-12 Mathematics instruction of students with disabilities through professional development, coaching, and instructional support for teachers and school-based coaches.

• Develops and delivers professional development for teachers in mathematics content and instructional strategies for the assigned grades, schools and/or content area.
• Visits schools to observe the teaching/learning process, provide support and/or technical assistance as appropriate to promote student achievement.
• Provides support to individual classroom teachers in curriculum implementation, mathematics content, use of instructional materials and strategies, use of accommodations, accessibility features, and use of data to improve instruction by implementing coaching cycle (pre-conference, model, co-teach, observe, debrief).
• Assists schools and ESE Instructional Program Support specialists with analysis of school, class, and student data, and develops appropriate instructional strategies.
• Leads development and facilitation of professional learning communities.
• Provides information and recommendations regarding instructional materials, equipment, and curriculum.
• Conducts model mathematics lessons, co-teaches, observes, and provides specific feedback to classroom teachers on instruction and/or management.
• Provides support for school-based professional development to build school capacity.
• Develops and delivers professional development for teachers incorporating Universal Design for Learning (UDL), assistive technology, and accommodations to promote mathematics instruction.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience:

Five (5) years of experience in exceptional student education.

Certifications & Licenses:
Florida Department of Education certification in at least one area of exceptional student education. Mathematics certification preferred.

• Knowledge of instructional design methodologies and behavioral interventions, including using a variety of teaching methods and positive behavior reinforcement appealing to different learners

Position Type:

Salary: $52,888 to $89,935 Per Year
