Salary: $48,700 to $78,900 per year. Starting salary $48,700 with a possible supplement of $7,000 for the 26‑27 school year (prorated for timing).

Job Summary

Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and, in harmony with the District’s philosophy of education, establishes clear objectives for lessons, units, projects, and other instructional activities. Employs a variety of instructional techniques and media consistent with the physical setting and the needs and abilities of the students.

Essential Functions

Meets and instructs assigned classes in the designated locations and times.

Plans a program of study that, as far as possible, meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students. Prepares for assigned classes and provides written evidence of preparation upon request.

Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.

Supervises students to protect them from conditions harmful to learning and/or their health and safety, taking all necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.

Assesses student accomplishments regularly and provides progress reports as required. Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records per law, district policy, and regulation.

Diagnoses learning disabilities regularly, seeking assistance from district specialists as required.

Assists administration in implementing policies and rules governing student life and conduct, develops reasonable classroom behavior rules and procedures, and maintains order fairly.

Is available to students and parents for education‑related purposes outside instructional time when reasonably requested.

Plans and supervises assignments for teacher aides or volunteers, evaluating their performance in cooperation with department heads.

Attends staff meetings and serves on staff committees as required.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience: None.
Certifications & Licenses: Eligible for Florida Department of Education certification in the appropriate subject area.

Knowledge of subject content.
Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
