Salary: $37,000–$50,000 depending on experience
Must be certified or eligible for certification in NC
$2,000 signing bonus
Position OverviewEast Voyager Academy of Charlotte is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Middle School Science Teacher to inspire students to explore and understand the natural world. The ideal candidate will promote curiosity, scientific thinking, and problem-solving while delivering high-quality instruction aligned with the North Carolina Standard Course of Study for Science. This teacher will create a positive classroom environment that supports hands‑on learning, inquiry, and academic growth.
Responsibilities- Plan and deliver engaging science instruction aligned with the North Carolina Standard Course of Study
- Teach core science concepts including life science, earth science, and physical science
- Facilitate hands‑on experiments, investigations, and STEM‑based learning activities
- Use data‑driven instruction to differentiate learning and support student growth
- Assess and monitor student progress regularly and maintain accurate records
- Create a structured and supportive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and scientific inquiry
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress
- Collaborate with grade‑level teams and participate in professional development
- Support school‑wide STEM initiatives, science fairs, and academic enrichment activities
- Bachelor’s degree in Middle School Education, Science Education, or a related field
- Must hold a current North Carolina teaching license in Middle Grades Science OR be eligible and willing to obtain NC licensure
- Strong understanding of scientific concepts, inquiry‑based learning, and instructional best practices
- Effective classroom management and communication skills
- Commitment to professional growth and collaboration
- Previous teaching experience
- Experience with hands‑on laboratory instruction or STEM‑based learning
- Familiarity with North Carolina assessment and accountability standards
- Experience integrating technology and inquiry‑based science instruction
