Lake Lure Classical Academy seeks a dedicated and knowledgeable Middle and High School Math Teacher who is passionate about cultivating mathematical reasoning, critical thinking and a love of learning within a classical education framework. The ideal candidate will inspire students to pursue truth, goodness and beauty through the study of mathematics while maintaining high academic expectations and fostering student growth.

• Plan and deliver engaging, standards‑aligned lessons in middle and high school mathematics (e.g., Pre‑Algebra, Algebra I & II, Geometry, Pre‑Calculus, and/or Calculus).
• Integrate classical education principles, emphasizing logic, reasoning and problem‑solving.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs and abilities.
• Use a variety of instructional strategies, including direct instruction, guided practice and collaborative learning.

• Foster a classroom environment that promotes respect, discipline and a love of learning.
• Encourage perseverance, intellectual curiosity and academic integrity.
• Provide timely and constructive feedback to support student growth.
• Maintain high expectations for both academic performance and character development.

• Develop and administer assessments to measure student progress.
• Analyze assessment data to inform instruction and improve student outcomes.
• Prepare students for relevant standardized tests and college readiness benchmarks.

• Establish and maintain clear expectations for behavior and academic engagement.
• Create a structured, orderly and positive classroom environment.
• Implement consistent classroom management practices aligned with school policies.

• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure vertical alignment of curriculum and instruction.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents and administration regarding student progress and classroom expectations.
• Participate in faculty meetings, professional development and school events.

• Engage in ongoing professional growth and development.
• Contribute to the broader school community through extracurricular activities, mentoring or coaching (as needed).

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Valid North Carolina teaching license (or ability to obtain).
• Strong content knowledge in secondary mathematics.
• Familiarity with or willingness to learn classical education pedagogy.
• Excellent communication, organization and classroom management skills.

• Experience teaching multiple levels of secondary mathematics.
