Under the direction of the school principal, the assistant is responsible for the care and instruction of after‑school children. Work hours are Monday‑Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Early dismissal days occur throughout the month when staff is needed from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

• Recognize and support the unique Catholic mission of the school by speaking, acting, and instructing in accordance with the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church. The employee may not espouse any doctrine inconsistent with the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church.
• Abide by Catholic principles in the employee’s professional and private life, governing both in strict accordance with Catholic morals and principals to demonstrate complete adherence to Catholic moral strictures.
• Develop and help build the school’s faith community by participating in and planning school religious and service activities.
• Assist with supervision of parent helpers and compliance with safe environment and other school requirements.
• Assist with playground supervision as necessary.
• Communicate effectively with students; help organize classroom learning, materials, and field trips to motivate student learning.
• Assist with a consistent disciplinary approach that promotes self‑direction and positive self‑image, and motivates learning.
• Help maintain a functional and pleasant learning environment.
• At all times demonstrate professional responsibility in all tasks assigned; display sound judgment in dress and general behavior.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Fingerprint clearance and completion of Protecting God's Children class is required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent human relations and interpersonal skills; a self‑starter who is well‑organized; a team player.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Flexibility in assessing needs and strategies, adapting appropriately in a school environment.

• Professional bearing and clean, neat personal appearance.
• High School Graduate or GED.

Requires coordination and manual dexterity, normal mental and visual ability; ability to lift as required in a normal classroom environment.
