About the Position
Location:
KIPP Impact Academy, KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools.
We are looking for a middle school STEM teacher to instruct grades 5‑8 during the 2026‑2027 school year. The course focuses on physical science through robotics and engineering design, integrating science, math, and ELA concepts to solve authentic engineering challenges.
Students design, build, test, and refine robotic systems while investigating fundamentals such as force, motion, energy, electricity, magnetism, and simple machines. Hands‑on laboratory investigations and engineering design challenges are central to the learning experience.
In alignment with the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA), students participate in multiple laboratory and engineering investigations each week, promoting safe practices, data analysis, troubleshooting, and evidence‑based communication.
Responsibilities- Develop and deliver a STEM curriculum that integrates robotics, physical science concepts, mathematics, and ELA for 5th‑8th grade students.
- Design, build, test, and refine robotic systems while guiding students through the engineering design process.
- Conduct laboratory investigations, collect and analyze data, and assess student progress.
- Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment and build relationships with students and families.
- Collaborate with the specials team, attend professional development, and support the schools’ special schedule.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the School Leader.
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Relevant Florida teaching certification or eligibility for certification in one or more of the following mid‑grade programs:
Middle Grades General Science 5‑9, Chemistry 6‑12, Physics 6‑12, Earth/Space Science 6‑12. - At least one complete year of teaching experience and a proven record of student achievement.
- Pass a background check, as required by law.

Preferred Qualifications
- Florida Reading endorsement or reading competency coursework in progress.
- Two or more years of elementary or middle‑school math teaching experience, or small‑group experience with a proven record of student achievement.
- Starting salary for a first‑year lead teacher: $50,000.
