  • K‑8 Staff

    Wednesday dismissal at 12:30pm

Job Description

KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools seeks a High School Physics Teacher for the 2025‑2026 school year. Teachers will be responsible for at least one subject area and for creating a positive classroom environment, implementing curriculum, assessing students, collaborating with their team, building relationships with families, and other duties as assigned.

Bold City offers a variety of options for its students—including honors classes, Advanced Placement classes for all, and career/technical education. Classes are chosen based on student and family interest, and the school plans to add more career tracks and Dual Enrollment as it expands.

Our Current Model

The high school model will evolve as more grade levels are added. Core content areas at the high school level include science, history, ELA, and math. High school lead teachers will likely have a homeroom class and teach several classes in their subject area. Teaching loads may vary. Electives are selected by the school leader according to student interest and teacher certification area(s).

Foreign language and elective teachers should apply through a separate posting.

  • Starting salary for a first‑year lead teacher: $50,000

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Relevant Florida Teaching Certification or Eligibility for Certification
  • At least one complete year of teaching experience with a proven track record of high achievement

  • Passing a background check, as required by law

Preferred Qualifications
  • FLDOE Certified in Physics
  • Florida Reading Endorsement (or reading competency coursework in progress)
  • ESOL Endorsement
  • Two or more years of secondary teaching experience with a proven track record of high achievement
  • Experience teaching honors or AP level courses in a high school
