Job Description

Teaching Starting Salary is $48,700. Additional Referendum money available for next year starting at $7000 for 26-27 school year; teachers hired during school year will receive prorated supplement amount based on date of hire.

Job Summary

Guides learning process toward curriculum goals, establishes clear objectives for lessons, units, projects, communicates objectives to students. Employs a variety of instructional techniques and media, consistent with locations and student needs. Strives to implement District's philosophy of education and instructional goals.

Essential Functions

Meets and instructs assigned classes at designated locations and times.

Plans a program of study that meets individual student needs, interests, and abilities. Prepares for assigned classes and shows written evidence of preparation upon request.

Creates classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to maturity and interests of students.

Supervises students to protect them from harmful conditions; takes precautions to protect students, equipment, and facilities.

Assesses student accomplishments regularly and provides progress reports. Maintains accurate records as required by law and District policy.

Diagnoses learning disabilities of students and seeks assistance from District specialists as required.

Assists administration in implementing policies governing student life and conduct; develops classroom behavior rules and maintains order fairly.

Provides availability to students and parents outside instructional day when required.

Plans and supervises assignments for teacher aides/volunteers and evaluates job performance in cooperation with department heads.

Attends staff meetings and serves on staff committees as required.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: None.

Certifications & Licenses: Must be eligible for Florida Department of Education Certification in appropriate subject area.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge of subject content.
Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Strong time management skills.
Strong organizational skills.
Strong word-processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software skills.
Ability to plan and implement a program of study that meets individual student needs.
Ability to devote additional hours beyond the workday for grading, lesson plan preparation, etc.
Ability to manage students and multiple tasks.

Position Type: Full‑Time

Salary: $48,700 to $78,900 Per Year
