Job DescriptionStarting Salary: $48,700. Referendum money available for the 26‑27 school year only, starting at around $7,000; teachers hired during the school year will receive a prorated supplement amount based on date of hire.
Job Summary
Provides counseling services for students by designing and implementing a multi-layered, comprehensive, and accountable guidance program in which equity, access, and academic success for all students is the focus. Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media, consistent with the physical limitations of the location provided and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved. Strives to implement, by instruction and action, the District’s philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives.

Education: Master’s degree in School Counseling and Guidance from an accredited college or university.
Experience: None required. Salary is based on verified years of teaching experience.
Certifications & Licenses: Must be eligible for Florida Department of Education Specialization Requirements for Certification in Guidance and Counseling.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Knowledge of Florida Statutes governing promotion, graduation, state assessment program, compulsory school attendance, credits, Florida Virtual School, and home school
- Knowledge of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Exceptional Student Education services eligibility requirements
- Knowledge of Section 504 of the Americans with Disabilities Act
- Knowledge of subject content
- Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong time management skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software skills
- Ability to plan and implement a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students
- Ability to devote additional hours beyond the workday for grading papers and preparation of lesson plans
- Ability to manage students
- Ability to manage multiple tasks
Position Type: Full‑Time
Salary: $48,700 to $78,900 Per Year
