Overview
Valiant is seeking an experienced P-8A Contract Instructor (Pilot, TACCO, Acoustic Systems Specialist, or Electronic Warfare Operator) to serve as the Site Manager for the training program at NAS Jacksonville. This role blends hands-on instruction with site leadership to ensure effective and compliant delivery of Fleet Replacement Squadron (FRS) training. The Site Manager will lead daily training operations, coordinate with the Government and FRS Training Office, and instruct across P-8A simulator, classroom, and systems training events.
This position supports P-8A training and MQ-4C site management.
- Lead all site operations and instructor staff, ensuring contract compliance, delivery of training and reporting requirements, and acting as the primary liaison to the Government Site COR for matters affecting performance, quality, and mission execution across P-8A training and MQ-4C site management responsibilities.
- Deliver P-8A simulator, training device, and classroom instruction, including briefs and debriefs.
- Conduct scheduled CI-led and CI-supported training for simulator, training device, and systems instruction.
- Provide academic instruction including CRM, IGS, and platform-specific coursework.
- Utilize training tools such as interactive whiteboards, computers, projectors, CAI and CBT.
- Evaluate student training and mission performance and document results per established criteria.
- Provide instruction on training device operation, briefing/debriefing procedures, and grading/assessment standards.
- Evaluate and record trainer and training device performance according to established criteria.
- Maintain, assess, and recommend improvements to mission scenarios for effectiveness and currency.
- Assist with curriculum updates, tests, lesson plans, trainee guides, and program improvements.
- Support simulator and training device inspections, certifications, mishap recreation, and special projects.
- Review syllabi and recommend changes based on NATOPS updates, engineering changes, and evolving mission requirements.
- Assist in maintaining the Tactical and Technical Publications Library and required instructional materials.
- Attend required Government meetings including Scheduling, Standardization, Government Instructor Pilot and Aircrew, Phase Head, and Intelligence Updates.
- Lead daily instructor scheduling and coordination with Government and FRS.
- Ensure CI training currency, standardization, required reading compliance, and maintenance of instructional materials.
- Maintain general cleanliness and housekeeping of assigned spaces and work areas.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Active Secret clearance; TS/SCI preferred. Must be willing and able to obtain a TS/SCI in the future.
Required Qualifications- 5+ years of management experience, including at least 2+ years managing aviation training operations or instructor personnel.
- Must be a qualified P-8A Contract Instructor (CIP, CINFO, CIASSA, or CIEWOA).
- Must be or have been a P-8A NATOPS qualified Patrol Plane Commander, TACCO, Acoustic Air Warfare Operator, or Electronic Warfare Operator; or have been a simulator instructor in the respective discipline within the previous five years.
- Must have a minimum of one fleet tour in the P-8A aircraft.
- Must have a minimum of one tour as an FRS Instructor Pilot, TACCO, AAWO, or EWOA.
- Must successfully complete P-8A NATOPS open book and closed book exams, simulator procedural evaluations, and annually renew qualifications with the FRS.
- Must demonstrate understanding of P-8A missions, aircraft operating systems, and normal/emergency crew procedures.
- Must meet all cross-training requirements as approved by the FRS via the COR, when applicable.
- Must be available by phone during local when not in the designated workspace.
- Ability to maintain proficiency with syllabus changes, required reading, and updates to publications.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and maintain situational awareness during extended training scenarios.
- Ability to walk on uneven surfaces.
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
- Ability to climb two flights of stairs and ladders.
- Ability to lift, climb, and perform physical tasks as needed.
