Position Overview
KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools seeks an 8th grade math teacher for the 2026‑2027 school year at KIPP Impact Academy rd Street). Teachers are assigned one grade level and are responsible for creating a positive classroom environment, implementing curriculum, assessing students, collaborating with their team, building relationships with families, and other duties as assigned. Full teacher responsibilities are ultimately outlined by their principal.

Each 8th grade team has four “home room” teachers, each responsible for teaching a core subject. The class size is typically about 26 students per class. Subjects taught include English Language Arts, Social Studies, Math, and Science.
Compensation and BenefitsStarting salary for a first‑year lead teacher is $50,000. Additional benefits include:

- 403(b) retirement program with a company match
All lead teachers receive individualized coaching and professional development. Instructional stipends may be available for certified New‑to‑KIPP staff, with historical average of $11,000.
Requirements- Bachelor’s degree
- Relevant Florida teaching certification or eligibility in one of the following areas:
Elementary Education K‑6 for 5th or 6th grade ELA, Math, Science, or Social Studies;
Math 5‑9 for grades 5–7–8;
Math 6‑12 for grades 6–7–8. - At least one complete year of teaching experience with a proven track‑record of high achievement in the classroom
- Commitment to creating an inclusive, healthy, and empowering community for students
- Passing a background check as required by law (Florida House Bill 531)

HighlyPreferred Qualifications
- Florida Reading Endorsement (or reading competency coursework in progress) if teaching English Language Arts
- ESOL Endorsement (or competency coursework in progress)
- Two or more years of teaching experience with a proven track‑record of high achievement in a relevant grade level
